Attorney
Mary Maikoetter commenced her solo practice in 1998 following a noteworthy career as a partner in a prestigious Denver law firm. Focusing on corporate law, today Ms. Maikoetter represents a variety of clients in many business arenas.
Particularly noted for the long term relationships she builds with clients, Ms. Maikoetter continues to work with several corporations she has represented throughout her legal career. Providing legal counsel over an extended period of time provides her clients with more efficient representation by enabling her to quickly assimilate data and rapidly evaluate the multiple effects new information may have on existing agreements. She blends personal warmth and approachability with legal expertise - a combination of skills appreciated by individuals, organizations, associations, and corporations.
The business background she developed prior to her legal career - that hands-on experience so critical to a true understanding of business as business - makes her uniquely suited to her practice emphasis. Prior to opening her own firm, she served as a partner in a mid-size Denver law firm, where she gained extensive experience in corporate and securities law. While there she handled complex corporate mergers and acquisitions, securities, financing, and general corporate matters and became the Firm's expert in a variety of intricate federal and state securities law issues.
While in
law school she worked for an oil company as a law clerk, handling
both corporate and securities matters, providing integral assistance
on a multi-tiered corporate reorganization and the listing of the
surviving entity's securities on both the American and Boston stock
exchanges. Prior to law school Ms. Maikoetter served as a paralegal
and then a gas transportation analyst in a Houston energy firm listed
on The New York Stock Exchange, adding another dimension to her
business expertise.
Ms. Maikoetter was awarded her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, where she was a member of the Board of Editors of the Denver University Law Review. Her undergraduate degree was earned from San Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Women's Bar Association, and the Denver Bar Association. She currently participates as a volunteer in the Children's Hospital's Prescription Pets program with her West Highland Terrier, Max.
